Going on a mission trip for the first time can be scary, yet fun! I wasn’t sure how I’d like it. I love to serve, but serving far from home is really different! At first I was all like, “Oh, no! How am I going to do this?” but once I got to Chattanooga, TN, I LOVED IT!
It was so much fun to meet people from different states! When the trip ended, I felt REALLY SAD! I knew that I could email my new friends any time, but it wasn’t the same as seeing them!
So… what are some things I could do to continue my friendship with
them???
1. IM with them on Facebook!
2. Visit them! Sure it’s a long drive, but can’t you go to a sports game in their state?
3. Send them holiday gifts!!! We all like to get those!
4. Your new friends might have family members that live in your state. Get to know them!!!
5. Have your church create a three-day event for churches around the U.S.!!! Your new friends might be there!
Well… with all that being said, let me tell you my “before and afters” of this mission trip!
BEFORE: Before this mission trip, I was TOTALLY afraid of heights. (Still kinda am!) After going to Rock City, I eased a little. I got to see that God’s there with me; He won’t let me fall.
BEFORE: Before the mission trip, I hardly read my Bible. Now I at least try to read it.
BEFORE: Before the mission trip, I thought that I had to do something big to make a difference, but now I see that even little things can make anyone happy!
This mission trip really made a difference in my life! I also know that it changed my friends in a way as well! Thank you SO much YOUTHWORKS and Reverb! Keep doing what you do; I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!
